On Monday, May 5th, UPT Fire & Emergency Services, hosted and led a multi-company training at the vacant Quest Diagnostics office building on S Collegeville Rd. This training was focused on the 5 and 2 response (5 engines and 2 ladders as initial response to a building fire). Objectives were for firefighters, working on a team, to participate in a hands-on rolling response drill simulating the skills required for attack of a structure fire. In addition to Collegeville Fire Company and @UPT Fire & Emergency Services, 6 additional area fire companies took part in the joint training including Royersford Fire Department, Trappe Fire Company No. 1, Black Rock Vol Fire Co., Limerick Fire Department, Lower Providence Fire Department, and Perkiomen Township Fire Company. It’s extremely helpful to train in realistic environment to simulate real emergencies. The ability to observe, react, adapt, communicate and overcome are crucial. It’s also always valuable to train with our mutual aid partners. We appreciate this opportunity to train with our mutual aid partners. Pictures Courtesy of Ted Hodgins.
