Crash in Lower Providence Township Closes 422 in Both Directions

06:43 hours Station 34 Fire Police were dispatched to assist Station 53 with a MVA w/ Rescue on EM 422 at mile marker 1884. Reports from MCEDS stated a tractor trailer vs Vehicle, with the vehicle down an embankment onto the bike trail. FP34- 1 in Utility 34 responded to EB 422 to shut down the roadway at the Egypt Road off ramp. FP Command also called for Traffic 51 to respond to assist on EB 422 at the Egypt Road Exit. Fire Police remained on location, until PennDot arrived with their trucks with crash bars on the back and took over the closer points. Station 56 and 46 Fire Police were dispatched to close WB 422 at the Trooper Road Exit and remained there until PennDot took over that closure Point. 422 remained closed in both directions until, the vehicles were removed and PennDot put down sand on the roadway to absorb the fluids from the accident and what was tracked along the roadway by drivers driving through the accident scene. PSP completed their investigation and the roadway in both directions several hours later.
