At 16:01 hours Engine 34 was dispatched, and responded with a crew of (5), to assist Lower Providence Fire Department with a working dwelling fire on the 700 Block of Barrington Avenue, in the Collegeville Section of the Township. Command officers from Station 53 responded and were on scene within 4 minutes and reported an advanced, well involved fire. Engine 34's crew upon arrival reported to manpower staging and then they were put right into service to assist with fire extinguishment on the first floor, then moving to the 2nd floor. The Fire was placed under control at 17:18 hours, and crews operated for over 4 hours to ensure complete extinguishment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Lower Providence Twp. Fire Marshal's Office, the Regional Fire Investigation Team and the State Police Fire Marshal's Office.
