Due to the reported gas leak, the response was upgraded to a structure response, bringing in mutual aid from Stations 68, 66, 77, and 53. Deputy 34 arrived on scene and established command and requested PECO respond out ASAP due to the active gas leak. Squad 68 proceeded to a hydrant location on Second Avenue to establish a positive water supply if needed. Tower 53 responded to the parking lot area one building away. and their crew assisted in checking to ensure the building was clear of all occupants. Fire Police from Stations 34, 77, 53 implemented lane restrictions on both Sound 2nd Avenue and North Bound to ensure a safe zone for Squad 68. PECO was notified and responded with a crew, upon arrival sealed off the gas leak. Once this was done, DeWanes towing responded out and removed the vehicle from the building, so that PECO Gas could finish sealing up the gas line.
