At approximately 1:03 a.m., the Collegeville Fire Company, along with Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services, Trappe Fire Company, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company, Phoenixville Fire Department, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Royersford Fire Department, and Lower Providence Fire Department, were dispatched to the 1500 block of Green Valley Drive in Upper Providence Township for a reported garage fire.

Upon arrival, officers from the Upper Providence Township Police Department found an attached garage fully involved with fire, which was spreading into the house.

Battalion Chief 34 arrived moments later, confirming the garage was well involved and that the fire was extending to the house. Command was established as Green Valley Command, and a fire hydrant was located in front of the property. Squad 68 began fire suppression using their deck gun to quickly reduce the flames, while the second arriving engine was assigned to establish a positive water supply.

Engine 34’s crew, along with firefighters from other responding departments, made an initial interior attack with hose lines, but were withdrawn because of the severity of the fire conditions indoors.

A working fire incident was declared, bringing additional resources including Skippack Fire Company as the Rapid Intervention Team, Norriton Fire Engine Company to provide cascade air supply, and Friendship Ambulance for firefighter rehabilitation.

Ladder 77 arrived on scene and assisted with establishing water supply and advancing the fire attack using multiple hoses and an elevated master stream.

The fire was brought under control at 2:08 a.m.
