At 5:44 PM Sunday, Squad 34 was dispatched as Automatic Mutual Aid to a house fire in the 300 block of Old State Rd (between Saddleview Dr and Mennonite Rd) in the township.
The caller reported their house was filling with smoke. Upon arrival, of CT68-2, the call was upgraded to a Working Fire Dispatch.
This incident occurred during the height of the snowstorm and in icy road conditions. The fire reportedly began in the furnace and ductwork and then extended to the ceiling. The fire was placed under control at 6:07pm
