Tonight, Collegeville Fire Company Engine 34 and Car 34 responded to LA Fitness in the Providence Town Center on a report of a fire alarm that was upgraded to a report of smoke in the building. While responding, additional notes were provided indicating smoke in the pool area. The building was evacuated. UPT Fire & Emergency Services Engine 68 arrived on scene to find an odor and small haze in the building. TFC assisted with the inside investigation and upon request from UPT Fire & Emergency Services, Trappe's Ladder 77, Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department's Ladder 68 and Phoenixville Fire Department's Ladder 65 were extended to the front and rear roof. The odor was traced to an HVAC system on the roof above the pool area. Royersford Fire Department and Lower Providence Fire Department also responded on the scene.
