At 12:59 hours Station 34 Fire Police were dispatched to a reported dump truck and trailer overturned at 8 E. Main Street in the Borough Of Collegeville. Deputy 34 who was on his way to a local store came upon the accident, and requested Station 53 (Lower Providence) Fire Police to shut down the Perkiomen Bridge at Germantown Pike and Ridge Pike in their Township as the accident was blocking all lanes of traffic on the Collegeville Side of the Bridge. 53 fire police requested station 83 (Worcester) fire police to assist them at Ridge and Germantown Pikes.
FP34-1 went in route and requested 77 fire police be dispatched. Due to the large volume of traffic and motorist going around Barricades and traffic cones, Station 99 fire police were requested and responded with Traffic 99. FP34-1 the requested Station 51 (Limerick) fire police dispatched to assist with traffic control. Numerous intersections had to be shut down and blocked as motorists were going the wrong way on a one way road. The accident scene was cleared and the roadways were re-opened about 15:44 hours.
We would like to thank Trappe, Black Rock, Worcester and Limerick Fire Police for their assistance today.
