This afternoon units from Collegeville Fire Company, UPDFES, Trappe Fire Company No. 1, Black Rock Vol Fire Co., and were dispatched to an appliance fire on Longacre Drive in Upper Providence. Upon dispatch it was relayed that the oven was stuck in self cleaning mode and that it was now spreading to the backsplash in the kitchen. Engine 93 requested the upgrade to the building fire. Police arrived on location reporting smoke in the kitchen with a fire in the wall. Montgomery County filled out the working fire bringing Royersford Fire Department and Skippack Fire Company. Engine 93 arrived, laid a supply line, and deployed an 1-3/4” preconnect. Assistant 93 established Longacre Command. Units found the fire to be contained to the oven with no actual extension. Units remained on scene to assist with ventilation for smoke / odor removal.
