MVA with Injuries involving Utility Pole

Station 34 was dispatched with Station 77 and Trappe EMS to a motor vehicle accident on College Avenue between E. 9th Avenue and
E. 1st Avenue. MCEDS updated responding units to report that the vehicle had struck several mailboxes and a utility pole. The vehicle had his several mailboxes in Collegeville Borough before hitting the utility pole in Trappe Borough

Upon arrival, Engine 77 found the EMS crew treating the driver, an SVU which came to rest against a utility pole, and wires hanging low across the street. The Engine 77 to up a blocking position on the Trappe Side of the accident while Squad 34 took up the Collegeville Side of the accident. Station 77 Fire Police closed the roadway at E 1st Avenue, while Station 34 Fire Police closed the roadway at E 9th Avenue.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and the vehicle was removed by a towing company. College Avenue will remain closed to through traffic until Verizon and PECO can rehang any wires and replace damaged poles.

An accident investigation will be completed by Collegeville Police Department.
