Today the Collegeville Fire Company mourns the loss of Life Member Michael J. Sarro.
Mike served actively for over three decades in many capacities including Engineer, Chief Engineer and President of the Company. He chaired many committees and was an End Man and Interlocutor of our Minstrel Show.

With all that he contributed Mike had no greater pleasure then to pass along his knowledge to others. He taught countless drivers and coached many pump operators. Mike was happiest behind the wheel of our apparatus, most especially our 1963 American LaFrance. Mike was a constant figure on Wednesday evening, Engineers nights always making sure the trucks were clean ready to go at a moment’s notice. He was the chauffer of choice for many of our firefighter weddings.

Mike was a loving husband to Mary, and father to Michael II, Stephen, (the late) Marybeth, Cheryl and Laurie. Mike is also survived by numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Mike was truly a friend to everyone he met. His smile would be sure to make your day.
We’ll miss our dear friend, but the impression Mike has made on our company, and our hearts, will endure forever. R.I.P. Mike.
