Industrial Rescue

Collegeville Fire Co., along with Perkiomen Twp., Fire Co., were dispatched to an industrial rescue in the iron bridge section of Perkiomen Township. Callers reported a man with his hands stuck in machinery. BC66 arrived and established “Perkiomen Command”. Engine 66 arrived and put its hydraulic spreading tool in service. Crews used cribbing to hold advances made by the tool. Rescue 34 arrived and put their hydraulic spreader and port-powers in service also. Working in tandem both spreaders freed the victim from the machine. The victim was flown to a hospital by JeffSTAT Critical Care Transport. Skippack Fire Company handed the LZ.
