This afternoon Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services, Royersford Fire Department, and Black Rock Vol Fire Co. were dispatched to a vehicle crash on RT422 Eastbound in the area of the Route 29 interchange. An off-duty police officer arrived on location and advised two box trucks had collided and one occupant was unable to get out without assistance. This report upgraded the assignment to a vehicle rescue adding RESCUE 34 Collegeville Fire Company and RESCUE 53 from the Lower Providence Fire Department. An additional ambulance was also requested adding Lower Providence EMS (322). Crews stabilized the vehicle and removed the patient.
