At 12:23 hours on Sunday, October 21st station 34 was dispatched along with Station 99 for a reported vehicle fire WB 422 in the area of the Troutman Road underpass. Units from Station 99 arrived on scene and reported a multi vehicle MVA. The original incident of a vehicle fire was actually an overheated vehicle off to the side. Motorists slowing down for this became involved in the multi vehicle accident. Squad 34 responded and staged at the EB on ramp, but was requested to immediately respond onto the highway by 99 command. Squad 34 responded EB and did the flip at the PennDOT cross over and went WB to the incident scene. Squad 34' s crew assisted EMS with patient care and also traffic control until Fire Police units arrived on scene. Rescue 34 was requested to respond EB and do blocking of the hi speed lane while a 4th ambulance staged and did patient care from EB side of the highway.
