On Friday 3-3-18 the winter storm took a lot of folks by surprise. The snow came in sooner than forecast
and started to accumulate quickly. The Snow along with the high winds knocked out power to much of Collegeville
and surrounding Communities. Emergency Service personal were extremely busy with trees and wires down, alarm calls throughout
Collegeville. The hardest hit area in Collegeville was E. 9th Avenue. (see pictures). 6th Avenue was the second hardest hit. (see pictures).
Traffic lights throughout Collegeville were out due to the power outage, thanks to the members of the Collegeville Fire Company (firefighters & fire police) and Collegeville PD, generators were placed at the traffic lights to make them operational during the power outage.
At about 5:30 am power was restored to much of Collegeville. All Traffic lights were returned to their normal operating mode.
