Passing of Life Member and Past Vice President Thomas Lachenmayer

The Collegeville Fire Company No.1 is Saddened to
announce the passing of Life Member and
Past Vice President Thomas Lachenmayer.


Thomas F. Lachenmayer, 89, husband of Anne L. (Faulkner) Lachenmayer, formerly of Collegeville, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at his daughter Anne’s Madison, VA residence. Tom was born on February 20, 1928 in Norristown, to the late Philip A. and Mary E. (Riley) Lachenmayer. He was a graduate of Norristown High School and Ursinus College, and served in the US Army. Before he retired,
Tom was Vice President and Treasurer of the Collegeville Flag & Manufacturing Company. Tom was a member of Augustus Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir over 50 years, was a Vestry president, church treasurer, and member of various committees. He was a life member, and former vice-pres., secretary, and treasurer of the Collegeville Fire Co. He also served on Collegeville Borough Council and was a treasurer for the Trappe Historical Society. In addition to his wife of 68 years, Tom is survived by his children, Karen A. Lachenmayer, Perkiomen Twp., Diane L. Wagner (Keith) of Madison, Gail L. Clark (Bob) of Delran, NJ., Ellen J.L. Wallace (Scott) of Elverson, Anne L. Boyer (Dave), and Greg T. Lachenmayer (Cheryl) of Windsor, CT; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen- great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Florence Smale, Margaret Orner, John Lachenmayer, and Philip Lachenmayer.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 5th, at Augustus Lutheran Church, with the Rev. G. Warren Weleck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, and 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Monday, both times at church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426; or the Collegeville Fire Company, 29 E. 5th Ave., Collegeville, PA 19426. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
