Mary L. Sarro (nee Torzone), 84, wife of Michael J. Sarro, Main St., Collegeville, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville, Pa. Mrs. Sarro was born on Dec. 16, 1932, in Philadelphia, to the late Pasquale and Lillian (Leightenberger) Torzone. Mrs. Sarro was a member of St. Eleanor Church where she participated in the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, was the author of a book of spiritual hymns and poems, was a CCD teacher, choir member, cantor and member of the Legion of Mary. She also was a member of the Collegeville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, a babysitter at the Trappe Nautilus Fitness Center and sold Tupperware.In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Sarro is survived by her children, Michael, II, husband of Rosemarie (Drummy) Sarro, E. Pikeland Township, Stephen, husband of Deborah (Davis) Sarro, Earl Township, Lancaster County, Cheryl, wife of Salvatore Flora, Collegeville, Laurie Sarro of Collegeville. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marybeth, wife of Bradley Poley, Douglass Township, Montgomery County. Mary was blessed with eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
